A Celebration of Life will be held on January 3rd, 2016 at 4 pm at Christ Chapel, 13909 Smoketown Road Woodbridge, Virginia 22192. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations are made in Amber’s name to the Lupus Foundation (www.lupus.org). Words cannot describe the hole in our hearts she left, but we know she is in the arms of her loving Savior and she is healed! That gives us peace, knowing we will see her in eternity, but this side of heaven hurts right now.Across Virginia

Last month, someone who lives in the Woodbridge area reported a loss of $5,421 to a romance scam. The item was listed on the Better Business Bureau's Scam Tracker website. The person was contacted through a dating website, but their communication moved off the site to email, texting and talking on the telephone. The man told the person he was building in Cape Town, but was robbed of all his money by a taxi driver. The victim sent the money via MoneyGram.
In 2015, the National Consumers League received more than 80 complaints from consumers who were approached by con artists pretending to have romantic intentions.
Scammers have pretended to be deployed service members or contractors working overseas. They have been known to buy flowers and other gifts to get close to their victims. "That is a powerful way for them to demonstrate they are for real," said John Breyault, vice president of policy, telecommunications and fraud. "These relationships can develop extremely quickly where the scammers posing as someone you would be interested in romantically quickly expresses love or they want to get to know you really quickly."
