Dec 30, 2018LANGHORNE >> “Ebenezer the Musical,” the adaptation of the classic Charles Dickens “Christmas Carol” with music and lyrics by Malcolm Sircom, opens Thursday, Dec. 10 at 7:30 p.m. at Acting Naturally’s New Theatre in the Shoppes at Flowers Mill, Langhorne.“Ebenezer the Musical” promises to tug at the heart as Ebenezer Scrooge learns the true meaning of Christmas. He is visited by his old business partner Marley who warns him of the three ghosts to visit. But unlike your commonplace ghosts, Acting Naturally’s production includes rap and rock and roll ghosts to guide Ebenzer on his path to the true meaning of Christmas.Wendy Force McBride, the founding director at Acting Naturally, directs the all-star cast. Feb 3, 2018Heller holds stuffed-animal rats that will be included in The Philadelphia Flower Show. Robin and her husband David – owners of Flowers by David in Langhorne – are arranging a 1,000-square-foot exhibit with their floral interpretation of the Disney-Pixar film “Ratatouille.”
Rats are unwelcome visitors to flower gardens or convention centers, usually.
David and Robin Heller, the husband and wife team that owns and operates Flowers by David in Langhorne, are bringing them to the Philadelphia Flower Show next week, anyway. But it’s not for any ill-will toward the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society or patrons of its annual event—it’s actually the opposite.
For their 19th year in the show, the Hellers are arranging a 1,000-square-foot exhibit with their floral interpretation of the Disney-Pixar film Ratatouille. Of course, no live rats will be used in the exhibit, but David Heller did connect with Yvonne Herbst, an Oregon artist who is credited as a digital painter in the movie, to make cartoonish rats for the display.
