Celosia  This flower has vibrant color — perfect as an accent or used as a main component of any arrangement. Reclipping and frequent water changes are needed for this hollow- stemmed beauty.  2. Sunflowers  It varies in colors and variety. Sunflowers are a main event in any arrangement. One of the most popular summer/fall flowers. The flower faces will follow the light and drink a tremendous amount of water. They can be used in foam arrangements, but will last longer in vase arrangements, with frequent reclipping and water changes.  3. Daisy/Mum plants  Many colors and varieties are available.  It can be grown for cut flowers or decorative landscaping. It is used seasonally for fall decorating. Thieves target beach enclave’s valuable flowers - The Mercury News

LA SELVA BEACH— A rash of flower thefts has been reported in recent days in a Santa Cruz County beach community. Four camellia bushes have been plundered along Playa Boulevard, said Sgt. Dee Baldwin, the Santa Cruz County sheriff’s spokesman. Whole branches have been removed, valued at $60 to $80, Baldwin said: “They are cutting the part of the tree that can propagate new plants.” Two years ago, similar thefts were reported in San Jose’s Willow Glen neighborhood. Commenting on the earlier case, Don Bergamini, president of the Northern California Camellia Society, said the flowers are expensive because the bushes grow slowly. A large plant in the ground could go for $200 to $400, he said. A San Jose woman whose camellia bush was hacked speculated that the culprit might be an unscrupulous florist looking to make a quick buck or a desperate bride seeking free foliage for wedding arrangements. The couple drew heavily from the Victorian era to create a steampunk-inspired ceremony. For the wedding, Burns shied away from the technological side and focused on this historical side. “My husband and I are drawn to the aesthetics of the Victorian Era,” she explained. For her, creating a themed wedding was a natural extension of her personality.
