Parents of Mainland student killed by car mourn determined young woman
Oct 27, 2018Daytona Beach police spokesman Jimmie Flynt said Dvorak, a teacher/counselor at the Florida Division of Blind Services on Dunn Avenue, could face a citation for violating a pedestrian crosswalk.
But David Boebert still is trying to come to terms with what happened.
"For the life of me I don't see why he hit her," he said referring to Dvorak. "I can't see it. I sat there for a while. Either he was going way too fast or he didn't see her. My God she had no right to die."

Berrien High FFA attends floral design training

FFA advisor/agriculture teacher Rebekah Dunn participated.
The floral design career development event allows students to showcase their talents in a competitive environment by utilizing the principles and elements of design. The competition will be held in October.
Students use the principles of balance, proportion, scale, focal point, emphasis, rhythm, harmony, unity, and the technique of flower placement to create their designs. The designs will be judged by Georgia Florist Association certified florist so to ensure industry standards are met.
Each student must also identify 25 flowers, plants or equipment from a list of 75 as well as take a test on the floral industry, safety and the proper techniques of floral design. The students make up to two floral arrangements during the area events in the time permitted.
Top two students from each of the six area events will compete on the state level in December at Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College.
