Miss Colombia calls Miss Universe mix-up a humiliation

Gutierrez was accidentally named the winner in Las Vegas earlier this month after host Steve Harvey misread his cue cards. Harvey later announced the crown actually belonged to Miss Philippines.
Miss Colombia says the awkward moment was humbling for her and other Latinos watching the competition.
Gutierrez is now spinning the incident as a kind of triumph.

During the recent spring, he received an order from a man in Las Vegas, asking Shortall to deliver seven dozen roses to a woman working in the county, whom the fellow had met on a business trip. However, all the sender knew was the woman’s first name, and that she worked in the hotel industry at the registration desk.
Shortall was tasked with locating the woman and delivering the order.
“We found her,” he said, proudly, “and then we delivered seven dozen roses to her at work, once a week, for about a month and a half. Then the orders stopped.”
Shortall added he later learned the woman had moved to Las Vegas and married her long distance admirer.
“So I guess we sealed the deal!” Shortall said, proudly.
Suddenly lowering his voice, he added, “Between you and me, when they’re chasing them they spend a lot more than after they catch them.”
Agreeing, Carter added, “Afterward, it’s mainly birthdays, anniversaries and Valentine’s Day.”
