Hoverboard safety rules could be on horizon

A spokesperson for Camden County Police Department said officials have not received reports of injuries and are not aware of any county regulations regarding the use of hoverboards.
Voorhees Police Department Capt. Carmen Del Palazzo said the township has not received any reports of accidents, but is cautious.
"We expect to see them since hoverboards were a hot ticket item this holiday season," Del Palazzo added. "One would expect hospitals to see an increase in reported injuries.

Grapevine, Flower Mound Mayors Sign Disaster Declarations

Residents at the Marquis at Silver Oaks Apartments prepared Thursday for high water just in case. Many came home from work to pack up.

There are no evacuation orders and no plans for evacuations as of Thursday afternoon, according to both the city of Grapevine and town of Flower Mound.
If evacuations are necessary, those impacted will be notified by emergency personnel.
“I came rushing home, it was super stressful and I got to make the U-turn down on 2499 and see the water already on the road,” Aldridge said.

Mount Vernon was the scene of a larger seed bomb party in July, when RAGBRAI riders passing through town were recruited to toss bombs containing the seed of milkweed, essential monarch butterfly habitat, into road ditches as they pedaled through Linn and Johnson counties.
“Our Future Exists Because We Have Imagined It,” an exhibit by Bianco, will be on display in Cornell’s Peter Paul Luce Gallery from Sunday through Dec. 6.
