Jane Colvin

Survivors include her son, Hubert Chester Colvin, Jr. (Kathy); daughter, Jane Colvin Neill (Chuck); son, George Edward Colvin (Pam); grandchildren, John Colvin, Sara Chandler Amthor, Martin Colvin, Marion Colvin and Abigail Colvin; and three great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind other family, her friends and her church family.
Jane Ella was born on January 20, 1931 in Hale County, Alabama. She was the daughter of George Searcy Martin and Marion Traylor Martin. She graduated from Akron High School and married Hubert Chester Colvin. She lived her entire life in her beloved community of Stewart, Alabama and devoted her life to her family, church and to running her family’s general store. Jane Ella loved God, touched the lives of those around her and will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Concord Cemetery Association (2921 County Rd 59, Moundville, AL 35474) or to the Stewart United Methodist Church (10291 AL Hwy 60, Moundville, AL 35474).

Lester R. Kluting
Dec 30, 2018Capitan will officiate at the services. Military honors will be included.
Lester was born May 29, 1924, in Peacock, Texas, one of 10 children of Chester and Mattie Kluting.
On March 27, 1959, he married Doris Kuykendall in Roswell. The marriage service was performed by Judge Perry Bean, a descendant of the famous Judge Roy Bean.
Lester served in the Army during World War II in Europe and made many lasting friendships there, attending Army reunions for years.
He had numerous jobs during his lifetime – including farmer, postman and volunteer fireman – but his main career was in the trucking industry. The last 15 years before his retirement, he was a tanker driver for Truckstops of America. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to his family, other drivers, coworkers, neighbors and friends.
Lester accepted the Lord as his Savior at a young age and lived his life as an example of Christ’s love. He was a member of Fairacres Baptist Church from 1996 until his death and had a church home in every place he lived.
Survivors include his wife, Doris; daughters Patricia McGinnis and husband Larry of Arkansas and Laura Rowan and husband Wallace of Las Cruces; grandson Wade Cockrell of Hawaii; sister Rebecca Phillips of Carlsbad; many nieces, nephews and cousins; and a host of other loved ones and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and eight of his siblings.

Teen killed in West Chester crash
Dec 30, 2018A teenager was killed in a car crash early Saturday morning in West Chester, police said.
The car crashed around 4:45 a.m. on Beckett Ridge Boulevard, just east of the entrance to Beckett Ridge Country Club.

The driver was heading west, lost control and hit a tree, police said. The driver and one passenger, males in their late teens, were not injured.
The other passenger, also in his late teens, was taken to West Chester Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The name of the victim was not released.
A small memorial has sprung up at the site of the crash. Flowers were placed next to a tree late Saturday afternoon.
West Chester police have not elaborated on the cause of the crash. They said the incident remains under investigation.
