Helena MT Press
deMontigny, Robert Lewis
Dec 30, 2018OMO Construction for the better part of 20 years allowing him and his family to live in different parts of Montana, yet always calling Helena home. In 2005, he retired and took a part time job as a grounds keeper at the local Laborer’s Union Hall, where he and his beloved Abi dog spent many hours. He took great pride in being called “Brother Bob”, “Uncle Bob”, and even more so in being “Dad.” The greatest joys in his life were his grandkids, Wyatt Matthew Fitz, Eli Lewis Fitz, Kaylee Renee deMontigny and Halsey Jo deMontigny, of whom he loved without measure. He was so grateful to have a wonderful son-in-law Scott Finnicum and wonderful daughter-in-law Bobbi Jo. He had a poet’s soul and laborer’s hands. His friends were life time friends and the bonds with his family were strong. His philosophy of “Love of Life” was lived to the fullest. He was very God indwelled. Bob had a big heart. Bob chose a special day to leave us and passed away with the rare full moon on Christmas night. He is preceded in death by his father, dear mother, step father, Keith Lappe, and his father-in-law, Halleck B. Fayler.
A memorial service celebrating Bob’s life will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at Anderson Stevenson Wilke Funeral Home, 3750 N. Montana Ave., Helena. A reception will immediately follow the memorial service in the social hall of the funeral home. A graveside service will follow the reception at the Craig Cemetery. Farrell: Hospice puts together wedding for Bluffton couple in 4 days
Feb 3, 2018Saturday afternoon and headed for their honeymoon, just hours after the Rev. Michael Williams married them at Faith Memorial Baptist Church on St. Helena Island.
They each had packed a small bag.
But they were not sure where they'd go.
Atlanta. Charlotte. Charleston. Myrtle Beach.
Or maybe they'd just stay home.
It did not matter.
"We change the plans as we go," McNally, 66, told me about the Bluffton couple's habit of getting in the car and pointing it north, south, west and east. "Maybe we go this way and then change it. Then we go that way and maybe we change it. People get so fixed on planning something. Like it's written in stone just because it was 'planned.'"
He said that last word with mild annoyance and amazement at those who adhere to strict ideas about what is going to happen in their lives.
He is, it would seem, an expert in spontaneity and flexibility.
He has to be.
McNally has stage three multiple myeloma and is under hospice care.
Now is not the time for hesitation -- for exhaustive consideration of what's next and how and with whom -- because "now" is the only guaranteed moment in life.
Right here. In this day.
He might not have another.
And besides, one more day not mar... http://www.thestate.com/news/local/article57702108.html
