Fae's flower-bed design in full bloom
Jul 5, 2018A Mansfield schoolgirl was blooming delighted to see her garden design has been planted up after she won a council competition.
More than 120 children from King Edward School and Sutton Road Primary School took part in the Mansfield District Council-run competition to design a showcase flower-bed and produced numerous ideas packed with colour.
Seven-year-old Fae Hyatt, from Sutton Road Primary School, was chosen by judges as the overall winner.
Along with her fellow classmates, she was invited to help create her winning design in the heart of the town’s Titchfield Park in the run-up to East Midlands in Bloom 2016.
Fae’s winning design, complete with a plaque with her name on, can be seen in the flowerbed near the busy petanque court area and pavilion.
Park visitors will be able to admire the design throughout the summer as the flowers should bloom right through until the first frosts in October.

Consumer Qs: Flowers on cake, lizards and rehabilitated horses
Jul 5, 2018A: There is one coming up in July. The Georgia Department of Agriculture will conduct a live auction on Saturday, July 30, at the Mansfield Impound Barn, 2834 Marben Farm Road, Mansfield, Ga. 30055.
The horses may be inspected at the facility beginning at 10 a.m. The sale will start at 11 a.m. For more information, contact the Georgia Department of Agriculture’s Equine Health Office at 404-656-3713. (M-F 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.) Currently, there are 13 geldings and mares of various ages, types and riding abilities scheduled to be offered.
