Man shot to death, three injured in fight in Houma
Dec 30, 2018An 18-year-old man was shot dead and three others were injured during a fight this afternoon along the 400 block of Morgan Street in Houma, Police Chief Dana Coleman said.</p><p>Officers responded to a call about 4:15 p.m. regarding shots fired on Morgan Street. Upon arrival, they noticed a man lying on the ground with multiple gunshot wounds. He was quickly transported to a medical facility, where he was pronounced dead, Coleman said.</p><p>The man was identified as Corey Butler, 18, of Prince Collins Street, Houma.</p><p>Witnesses told police that other men had been shot during the incident but fled the scene in the direction of area hospitals and neighboring jurisdictions, Coleman said.</p><p>The initial investigation revealed that at least five men had met on Morgan Street and a fight broke out, Coleman said. Then shots were fired, leaving Butler dead, a 19-year-old man shot in the shoulder, a 24-year-old man shot in various locations of his body and a 25-year-old man shot in the face.
