Tiger tale: A gift to remember

Rinkhan, a 3-year-old, 550-pound male Bengal tiger. Their meeting took place at Marine World Africa USA (still in Redwood City at the time). It was a family adventure for sure, with lots of photos to prove it. Not only should you not try this at home, you can’t even do it at the theme park anymore; subsequent events, shall we say, resulted in the banning of this kind of photo-op. We were lucky. Back story, part 2: A few years later, a national florists chain sponsored a Valentine’s Day poetry contest. Interested poets should not only express their devotion in rhyme, they should also mention their loved one’s favorite flower. I entered.
